I built my Ark as a mobile carving workshop. It has taken many months of hard wok to build and it is not finished. Perhaps it will never be finished because it is such a good ongoing project for instructing people on work experience in the art of woodcarving. Many of the carvings on the ark including most of the animals are carved by these helpers. Antony Griffiths was one now he is successfully carving in his own right.
The ark is used on location and has provided me with many opportunities to talk to interested onlookers in Nottingham , London, Cheltenham, and Bath. Just like the bigger public carving projects it creates a focus for discussion about art life and everything. In Nottingham I had many good conversations with Muslims who know the scriptures well.
