The Choir Stalls were donated by Abbot Elyot around 1520. The Misericords, used as supports by the Monks during long services, are underneath the seats. The monastery was dissolved in 1539 and the the building became the Cathedral in 1542
Alan Rome, Architect for Bristol Cathedral asked me to repair the choir stalls cresting above. Sections were missing all around the choir stalls. New elements pictured bottom right were pieced in to restore the the missing parts. Pictured below the top section restored .
The brass eagle lectern pictured right was slightly damaged in an accident and I made some small repairs to it.
