Not many of us have actually heard the voice of God audibly directing us, but we all know about the internal struggle taking place when it comes to deciding the best course of action. Arguments can be arranged on each side of the question and often all the answers appear to be right. The only way of deciding is to see how it feels when we seek the voice of our conscience. That way we see if we are going to be happy with our decision. The choice is about knowing what will bring good fruit,gentleness healing justice love reconciliation and closeness to God. Perhaps after hearing this still small voice we may decide to put down our own agenda and make some sacrifices so that we can move forward in our relationships. If we don’t  it becomes very hard to run away from our conscience, and like Jonah we are dogged. There is no running away the small voice is in the centre of our confusion. We dream it, we talk about it all the time, we get stressed, ill, angry, and sad, until we pay attention and act in love for ourselves others and Christ
