Conservation projects

Conservation put me intimately in touch with some wonderful art works. At wells Cathedral some of the greatest 13th centaury sculpture in Europe. The idea of none intervention when conserving any art work is a myth but the training instils a humility and demands empathy with the work and a sense of service to the original artist working 800 years ago.
Working with great art also increased my skills and understanding of sculpture and communication through art. It has made me want to communicate through my own sculpture.
Conservation provided me with a good living when we were raising a family . Fortunately in Britain we value our heritage and will pay for its upkeep.
