I was taught the basics of lost wax casting by Bert Angeloni at art school., and later improved this skill teaching part time students at Bath Academy of Art. Since then I have built several foundries for specific  commissions and have made  small bronzes to keep my hand in. Bronze casting was never a main line in my work. I love the finished pieces but I find the process too time consuming and have no need of editions. I have kept my smallest foundry just in case I need it but in general I have decided that if I should need bronze in the future some one else can do the casting.  Carving in stone and wood gives me maximum creative energy and expression with minimum processing to arrive at a finished result. When  you finish the carving there no more to do.
