St Andrews Headington1980
I carved this figure of Saint Andrew in Lapene stone . It is in a niche over the north door of St Andrews Headington near Calne Wiltshire The sculpture shows Saint Andrew on the sea shore working. The sea just laps over his foot and the cross formed by the two timbers he is lashing reminds us of his crucifixion. Left the carving is newly installed above the figure has had twenty seven years to weather in.
I also restored the fourteenth centaury niche pinnacles in Bath Stone and conserved the niche using the lime method.
