James Elliot Bath City architect asked me to make the Pumproom Fountain according to his design. The urn had to be hollow and the lid removable to allow the plumbing to be regularly dismantled and cleaned. Therefor the urn and socle are made of Bath stone and the lid glass fibre and Bath stone filled resin. The lid is light weight but very strong and can easily be removed. The shells and fish are bronze. The fish were added by me afterwards to improve the constricted drainage of the fountian. I carved and cast everything.
