I worked for the Royal National Institute for the Deaf part time for seven years from 2000- 2007.For part of that time I was designing woodwork projects for deaf people with multiple disabilities. At this time I was asked to make a bench in memory of Lauren, to be placed in the playground of Lime Grove School . I designed it for the children to sit on and made it at the R.N.I.D. workshop with one of the service users. A great deal of the wood used at the R.N.I.D. workshop was from recycled sources.
Lime Grove School Is now closed and moved to the new Three Ways School in Bath.
